Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Vinaigrette

Serving Suggestion
Combine 2 cloves chopped garlic, 1 Tbsp lemon juice, and 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 3 Tbsp sesame oil, and some freshly grated ginger to create a marinade. In a glass dish, marinate tuna for 1 hour in the refrigerator. Once fish has marinated, preheat stainless skillet over medium high heat for 2 minutes. While the pan is preheating, remove tuna steaks from the marinade and season with coarse ground pepper. Cook the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side (4-5 minutes if you would like the fish less rare). The outside should be seared, while the inside remains pink. Slice into 1/4 inch thick slices. Serve immediately over a bed of greens tossed with a wasabi vinaigrette and roasted fingerling potatoes. Garnish with thinly sliced green onion.
Additional Information
Ahi, or Yellowfin Tuna, has a delicate flavor and enticing color. The meaty texture of this fish allows it to be very versatile in preparation. Enjoy this fish seared, broiled, grilled, or even as kebobs!
Ahi is often enjoyed as sashimi; however, we recommend that you sear our tuna (approx. 2-3 minutes per side) before eating it.
We preserve our Ahi Tuna with Clearsmoke. Clearsmoke is a patented wood smoking process in which hickory wood chips are burned and the smoke is harnessed. The smoke then travels through a series of filters, filtering out any particulates, resulting in clear smoke. This method locks in the natural color and taste of the fish without altering the flavor.
